Profits to be used to support the mission of Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity
Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity opened its ReStore Friday, May 18. The ReStore is in North Towne Mall. It is a surplus and gently used building supply resale shop. Regular business hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The profits generated by the sale of donated items at the ReStore are used to support the mission of Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity and help to fund its building program. In addition to raising needed funds for the home building, the ReStore helps the environment by recycling good, usable materials for use and keeping these items from adding to our landfills.
Quality used and surplus materials such as cabinets, carpet, countertops, doors, windows, light fixtures, lumber and hardware are available at the ReStore for deeply discounted prices.
Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity, incorporated in 1987, is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry that works in partnership with people in need of decent shelter to build simple, affordable houses. Habitat homeowners purchase their houses through non-profit, no-interest mortgages while contributing hundreds of hours of sweat equity labor working on their homes.
