The Haven Network for Perinatal Death and Bereavement is celebrating its first year of serving bereaved families with a benefit banquet. The Journey of the Heart will be Thursday, Sept. 15, at Giovannis, 610 N. Bell School Rd. Fellowship is at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Dinner is complimentary, but reservations are required.
Master of ceremonies at the banquet will be Fritz Jacobi, publisher of the Rockford Register Star. Banquet speakers will be Adelia Chung, president of the Million Dollar Round Table, and her husband Steve Dung. They have founded the Alana Dung Research Foundation, a non-profit organization named in memory of their young daughter, dedicated to supporting scientific research and improving the quality of life for children with serious illnesses.
The benefit will provide ongoing support for the Family Services Program of the Haven Network. The Network provides spiritual, emotional and practical support to families experiencing the death of their pre-born or newly born baby.
