Hired Gunz to become Class Reunion

Hired Gunz to become Class Reunion

After much thought and debate, two-time Best of Rockford winner Hired Gunz has decided it’s time for a name change. Beginning January 1, 2002, the band will become Class Reunion.

Band spokesman Dave Healy explained that it’s been in the works for about a year. “We finally decided to make it official. Even though we’ve been around for about five years and play classic rock and oldies, some people thought we were a country band. Plus, with all the craziness in the world today, we were becoming uncomfortable using the word ‘Gunz’ in our name. Class Reunion better describes our music.”

Other members of the band include Aaron Statler, Gary Pearson, Steve Nece and Ted Kiefer. The band was originally formed many years ago by area police officers. They performed at schools and for benefits. Hired Gunz was reformed about six years ago, but this time with non-police members.

Hired Gunz has twice won the coveted Best of Rockford Award, and they were featured on the Oldies Stage at On The Waterfront. They also were the house band for the Rockford Ice Hogs during the Hogs’ first year in Rockford.

Class Reunion invites all their friends to come see them in January. They will be at Crocks Prime Strip in South Beloit on the 4th and 5th, Giovanni’s/Big Al’s Bar on the 12th and Croc’s Pub in Roscoe on the 18th.
