The Hispanic community is invited to attend, Latinos Unidos, a Hispanic Summit Saturday, Nov. 18, 3-6 p.m., at the Crusader Clinic on W. State St., 1200 West State Street, Rockford.
Crusader Clinic, with the help of La Voz Latina and the City of Rockford Hispanic Leadership Council (HLC), will host Latinos Unidos to increase awareness and educate the community at large of issues related to our local Latino population. Members of the HLC include representatives of social service programs, city government and people residing in Boone and/or Winnebago Counties.
Those attending the event will be able to participate in hearing, vision and diabetes screenings, access social service programs, gain insight to federal immigration policy and will be provided opportunity to address concerns related to the Hispanic community with Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey. This event is free; child care and refreshments will also be provided.
