Historical excursion rides for school groups

Students will learn about the glory days of riverboat and trolley travel as they travel back in time via 45-minute historical narrative rides geared to school-age children on the Rockford Park District’s Forest City Queen riverboat and track Trolley Car 36. Special rides for school groups are scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 9-25, for a reduced group price of $2 per student, with advance reservations. Trips leave on the hour from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. from Riverview Park, 324 N. Madison St., Rockford. Reserve now for these popular classroom outings by calling Carlson Ice Arena at 987-1685 (TTY, 633-0637). Both the Forest City Queen and the Trolley are completely wheelchair accessible; for disability support, call 987-1600 (voice/TTY).
