Hockey lessons for Junior and Senior IceHogs

Registration is under way for Rockford Park District’s Junior and Senior IceHogs™ summer ice hockey lessons for participants ages 2-adult. Chair Hockey helps children develop confidence on the ice by using chairs to help with balance. Rink Rats is for beginners with good balance, who will learn the basic hockey skating skills needed to progress to the Ter-mites program, where students learn fundamentals of the game. Learn to Play Hockey classes are offered for youth ages 8-17 and 18-adult. Power Skating for ages 8-adult helps hockey skaters strengthen their skills.

Classes meet once a week for either five or six weeks beginning the weeks of June 7 and July 19 at Carlson Ice Arena. Registration deadlines are one week before each session begins; register online at, by fax (with credit card), mail, or in person at Customer Service, 401 S. Main St., or Carlson Ice Arena at Perryville and Riverside.
