Tied at one game each, the Rockford IceHogs and the Fort Wayne Komets resume their quest for the United Hockey League (UHL) Colonial Cup tonight, Wednesday, May 2, at the MetroCentre. The third game of the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals begins at 7:30 p.m.

Following their 5-2 win in Fort Wayne, Ind. this past Sunday, April 29, the ’Hogs are coming into the game on a bit of a high. They look to keep the momentum going with a home game tonight and again Friday, May 4.

The ’Hogs were shut out 3-0 in the series opener in Fort Wayne, Friday night, April 27. They quickly put that loss behind them as they rebounded with the big win Sunday, April 29.

For the Komets, it is déjà vu all over again. They started the first round of their quest for the Cup with a 3-0 shut-out win over the Chicago Hounds—the same score as their first game with Rockford in the second round. They went on to lose game two of that series by the identical 5-2 score as last Sunday’s game. They did go on to win that series 4-1. Let’s hope this is where the similarities between the two series come to a screeching halt.

Tickets for tonight’s and Friday’s games are available at the MetroCentre box office. Fans unable to attend the game can listen to the live broadcast on WNTA 1330 AM.
