Home opener set for Friday, Oct. 13, at Rockford MetroCentre

With temperatures nearing 100 degrees, I realize it may be a little tough to think about hockey. But that’s exactly what the Rockford IceHogs want us to do.

The team has announced new starting times for their Wednesday and Friday night games for the 2006-07 season.

For the previous seven seasons, the starting time for weeknight games has been 7:05 p.m. This year, the weeknight games will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday night games will start at 7:05 p.m. ’Hog’s home Sunday afternoon games will get underway at 3:05.

The team will play 38 regular season home games with 15 games on Saturdays, 14 Friday night contests, six Wednesday match-ups and three Sunday matinees.

The IceHogs open their eighth season in Rockford Friday night, Oct. 13, at the Rockford MetroCentre against their Western Conference rival, the Fort Wayne Comets.
