McHenry County Defenders will present a winter Full Moon Theatre on

home energy conservation at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7th at the Woodstock Public Library. The presentation will explore the issues of energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy conservation. Winter is the perfect time to identify how to stay warm without wasting valuable natural resources.

James Lamb, Illinois Renewable Energy Association member, will teach conservation methods to use in the winter months to maximize energy efficiency and save money. He will reveal how to use refrigeration and other appliances efficiently, therefore saving energy. James will also describe how to effectively use solar energy in combination with conservation measures to lower utility bills. He will also touch on the use of grid interactive solar systems. Finally, James will present his worksheet, “Electric Energy Usage Analysis,” which identifies the kilowatts used by different household appliances to help participants make informed choices.

The Full Moon Theatre is an educational series sponsored by the McHenry

County Defenders’ Education Committee. The purpose of the Full Moon Theatre is to provide a friendly forum for discussion on specific environmental issues and broad environmental ideals. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ideas and examples of energy conservation practices to pass on to others.
