Hostage survivor, artist at Lincoln benefit

Hostage survivor Kurt Carlson and acclaimed artist Tom Heflin will be among those receiving the Capstone Award from Friends of Lincoln Middle School during Restoration Celebration II, an art exhibit and benefit concert at the landmark school, Thursday, April 15.

Carlson and Heflin will reminisce about their experiences at the historic school and speak about their accomplishments as adults that make them role models for today’s students. At least one other Capstone recipient, chosen from nominations submitted by the public, will be announced during the 7 p.m. program. Lincoln presented its first Capstones in late 2002 as part of the school’s 75th anniversary.

Tickets are on sale at Lincoln, East, Stockholm Inn, Randee’s Music, J.R. Kortman Center for Design and Privileges by Rebecca Heflin. Admission: $10 for adults, $5 for students and $12 at the door.
