The Humane Society of Winnebago County is holding three fund-raisers to benefit dogs and cats in their care. See how they fit into your holiday plans this yearremember, pets like presents, too! PETCO, 6305 E. State St., is offering photos with Santa for kids and/or pets starting at $9. Hours are: Friday, Nov. 24 and Saturday, Nov. 2511 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 2611 a.m.-5 p.m.; all Saturdays in December11 a.m.-7 p.m.; all Sundays in December11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Monday-Thursday, Dec. 18-2111 a.m.-7 p.m. Appointments are recommended (call 229-0184), but walk-ins are welcome! Digital photos will be printed while you wait. HSWC is the sponsor.
Furry Friends Christmas Stockings will be for sale for $10 each, starting Thanksgiving weekend, at Pepper Creek, Country Lane Kennels, Pampered Pet Grooming, Mostly Cats vet clinic, Bellwood Medical vet clinic, Hillcrest, PETCO, and Funderburgs Craft Fair in Belvidere, Dec. 1, 2 and 3. Dog stockings have a dog bone in the front pocket; red stockings contain a regular-sized greenie, and green stockings contain a petite-sized greenie. Cat stockings have fresh catnip sewn into the front pocket.
The Humane Society has also signed up with Cartridges for Kids (CFK) as a fund-raiser (Cartridges for Cats & Dogs) to support its various programs. CFK is a hassle-free recycling program that pays cash for recyclable items to support non-profit organizations.
