IceHogs skate into Fort Wayne with playoff series lead

The Rockford IceHogs got off on the right skate for their first-round playoff games, as they took a two-games-to-none lead over the Fort Wayne Komets this past weekend.

The IceHogs opened the series Friday night, April 21, with a 7-5 win. They came back Sunday evening, April 23, and took game two by a score of 4-1.

Chaz Johnson was the offensive hero of the weekend. He had two goals in the opener, and followed with another two-goal game Sunday.

Robin Big Snake also had a good weekend. He scored a goal in each of the two games.

The ’Hogs now move on to games three and four in Fort Wayne, Ind. Game three was Tuesday, April 25 (results unavailable at press time). Game four will be Thursday, April 27. If a game five is necessary, it will be played back at the MetroCentre this Friday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. Should the series go to a sixth game, it will be played in Fort Wayne Saturday, April 29. Game seven, if necessary, would be held back at the MetroCenter Tuesday, May 2.
