Illini ticket giveaway benefits food pantry

Local residents will have the chance to win tickets to Illini basketball games and at the same time help needy residents. The Home Environment Center is asking the community to stop in their store to sign a “GOOD LUCK, Illini” banner that will be sent to the team. At the same time, participants are asked to bring a food item or donation to benefit the Rock River Valley Food Pantry.

Gayle Englof, owner of The Home Environment Center and a graduate of the University of Illinois, thought the promotion was a win-win for everyone involved.

“The staff of The Home Environment Center is always looking for ways to help the community; we thought this was a fun way to do it,” Englof said.

The signed banner will be sent to Illini men’s basketball coach Bruce Weber in January.

The Home Environment Center, 6407 E. Riverside (across from Beef-A-Roo), features state-of-the-art air purification systems, allergy relief products, water softeners, reverse osmosis systems and water by the gallon.
