Iron Horse Classic comes to Byron


Calling all bikers! The Motosports Park Iron Horse Classic is coming to Byron, Ill. on August 4 and 5. This event is held three miles south of Byron on German Church Road next to the nuclear plant. Sign up for the Road-O-Cross, the first and only Road Cruiser MX race! Bikers will compete in serious classes for elapsed time: Heavy weight (big cruisers); modified (XLCH, BMW, KA, 1000, etc.); crotch rockets (Ninjas, etc.); head-to-head grudge matches. Money and trophies will be awarded.

Also, take part in fun classes: Best Costume, for a $100 cash prize; TBA–run what you brung”; there is an EMT-staffed track. Special trophies will be awarded.

A public auction will be conducted by Rusty Ott at Pro Source. Look for new and used dealer inventory reductions and personal vehicles. See the Custom Bike Show.

The track is specially modified to facilitate road bikes. All participants will receive a special certificate and pin. Get a free bike wash. Hear top blues bands performing live–don’t miss The Blues Hawks and The James Solberg Band. Overnight camping is available, free with admission. RVs are welcome—no hookups.

Entrance fee is $15 all weekend. Draft and package beer and food will be available. For free vendor space or general information, call (815) 234-4165.
