Jacqueline LaVelle, 94, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007, at her residence in Rosewood Care Center. She was born April 19, 1913, in West Township, Effingham County, to Charles and Cora (Shumaker) Colwell. In 1934 she married Powell Turman. They remained together until his death in late 1960. Jacqueline participated in the Senior Citizens Club in Effingham and was a member of the First Church of God in Effingham. Predeceased by parents Charles and Cora, husband Powell, brothers Clyde, Raliegh, Fred, George, John, also by sisters Mary Burk, Daisy Smith, Rosie Mahon, Allie Heth, and Annie Brewer. She is survived by her son Dean (Doris) Turman of Winnebago, Ill., sister Clara Robinson of Oklahoma City, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation and funeral held at Pagel Funeral Home, 704 Broad St., Edgewood, Ill. Services at 2 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2007, with visitation one hour prior.
