Jan. 20 event focuses on stock photography

Copyright? Licensing? Rights managed? Royalty free? What does it all mean? From paste-up to Internet search, stock imagery, photography and video has seen some radical changes over the past 15 years. How did the industry evolve, and what’s to come in the way of stock?

The Northern Illinois Advertising Federation will present a program addressing these questions from 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Rock Valley College—Woodward Technology Center Room 141.

Guest speaker will be Mark Nickerson, director of Operations and Quality at Dynamic Graphics Group. A division of Jupiter Images, DGG is home to PictureQuest, Creatas, Liquidlibrary, Step Inside Design and Dynamic Graphics magazine. Nickerson has more than 15 years experience in stock film and photograph operations, post-production, rights licensing and sales.

Cost is $15 to members, $20 to non-members. Contact Marta Jones at (815) 636-4610 to make reservations.

Join NIAF the third Friday of each month from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rock Valley College for lunch, networking and industry education.
