JANE has new Web site

You may not be able to meet Burpee Museum’s newest dinosaur in person quite yet, but you can now visit her online. Burpee Museum announces the opening of www.VisitJane.com, a site just for the mysterious JANE.

Log on and learn about the new exhibit, JANE: Diary of a Dinosaur, opening June 29. See JANE’s bones and learn about her world 66 million years ago. Find out why she is one of the world’s most unique and controversial dinosaurs.

The site also tells about JANE-related events you can attend right now, such “JANE Days” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday through June 11. Meet a member of the team that discovered and excavated JANE; hear firsthand what it’s like to find dinosaur bones; dress up like a paleontologist; make some dino tracks!

Back online, your kids will enjoy “Kids Corner,” where they can color a picture of JANE, make a JANE Chain or figure out if they can become a fossil themselves!

Burpee Museum of Natural History is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children ages 3-17. More info: www.burpee.org or www.VisitJane.com or phone 965-3433.
