On a cold, wintry Illinois night, why not warm up with a fantastic dose of bluegrass music? The Jefferson County Bluegrass Band brings together some of the most accomplished area veterans of bluegrass music. Firmly footed in the basic structures, techniques and traditions of bluegrass music, they bring to it their own unique sound. The members include Brian Cate, bass; Chris Faulkner, banjo; Doug Hodge, guitar; and Dale Ward, mandolin and dobro.
All members of the band are accomplished singers with solid musicianship and tight harmonies that have been the source of the bands success. The Jefferson County Bluegrass Band performs at fairs, festivals, club venues, special events and celebrations throughout the Midwest. Their breathtaking rendition of Blue Moon of Kentucky, sung by Ward, has been known to bring an audience to its feet. They respect the history of bluegrass music and are trying to promote a solid place for it in the future.
