John Batdorf performs for Charlotte’s Web

Charlotte’s Web welcomes John Batdorf, who will be at Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, 415 N. Church St., at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 24. Batdorf’s uniquely passionate vocals and guitar playing landed him his first major record deal back in the ’70s with Atlantic Records as the duo Batdorf & Rodney; and he’s continued to develop and grow as an artist to this day. His original songs are some of the most personal, most deeply-felt songs you’ll ever hear. His latest CD, Home Again, is an acoustic guitar and vocal enthusiast’s dream come true, and it brings him “home again” to the Midwest. If you were fortunate enough to have caught John Batdorf at Sinnissippi last summer performing “All Wood and Stones” with James Lee Stanley, then you already know you can’t miss this one!

Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Tickets are available at Rockford Area Arts Council, 713 E. State St., 815-963-6765; The Postal Shoppe, Edgebrook Center, 815-397-7301 and 2205 S.
