MOLINEThe John Deere Collectors Center will bring its annual tractor and memorabilia auction to the Deere & Company World Headquarters for the first time on June 30-July 1.
As always, this years auction will feature classic John Deere tractors and equipment, along with an exciting collection of John Deere memorabilia. A tractor ride and show are also scheduled for a complete weekend of John Deere fun.
Festivities kick off at 9 a.m., June 29, with participants driving their tractors from the Deere & Company World Headquarters to another landmark, the Tournament Players Club at Deere Run, home of the John Deere Classic golf tournament. At TPC, guests will enjoy lunch and presentations about Deeres history in the area. All tractor ride participants must register in advance.
Classic tractors and equipment in original and restored condition will be displayed in the main parking lot at the Deere & Company World Headquarters, beginning June 30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and July 1, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The action will move inside Friday for the annual memorabilia auction beginning at 1 p.m. on the World Headquarters Display Floor. Most of the items up for bid this year came from a long-time collector from central Kansas, and include an original John Deere buggy promotional print, a variety of signs and a significant collection of pocket ledgers.
The annual tractor and implement auction begins at 9 a.m., Saturday. Among items scheduled to be sold is one of the latest Waterloo Boys, a restored John Deere 3020 Lanz Standard (1 of 171), a restored John Deere 3020 High Clearance, and a rare Argentine John Deere 730 High Crop. Another unique item on the auction is a 1955 John Deere 50, modified by Barber Greene of Aurora, Ill., to create a 550 windrow loader, one of approximately 200 units produced.
The auction will be held just outside the building entrance, rain or shine. Limited seating will be available; however, guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Admission to all events, except the tractor ride, is free.
The Deere & Company World Headquarters is at One John Deere Place, just off IL-5/John Deere Road, Moline. It is approximately 3.5 miles east of the intersection of I-74 and IL-5.
The John Deere Collectors Center is the premier association for enthusiasts interested in the history and heritage of John Deere and the collection of early John Deere tractors, equipment, and memorabilia.
