Junior League presents ‘Dine by Design Kitchen Tour’ benefit

Junior League of Rockford will present Dine by Design Kitchen Tour on Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will benefit local homeless families served through the Junior League’s signature project MAYA’s House, and the projects and programs of Junior League of Rockford. The kitchen tour will showcase 10 magnificent kitchens in the Rockford area that represent the latest in kitchen designs.

Many of the professionals involved in the design of the kitchens will be on site to point out key elements, answer questions and present their services and products. Visitors will also see tabletop displays, food demonstrations and be able to shop for unique specialty items from local artists and businesses.

Of the 10 kitchens that will be open to the public, nine are in Rockford, and one is in Belvidere. In Rockford, the kitchens are located at the following homes: 1128 Harlem Blvd., 2208 Clinton Place, 417 Market St., 1201 Brown Hills Rd., 930 Paris Ave., 5231 Killdeer Place, 1650 Coachman Drive, 1715 Appaloosa Ct., and 593 Spring Creek Rd. In Belvidere, the kitchen is located at 12445 Bellingham.

Tickets are $15 in advance at Associated Bank, Crimson Ridge, Village Green, VG Home, Logli Supermarkets, and Junior League of Rockford headquarters. Tickets are $20 at the door.

Proceeds from the Dine by Design Kitchen Tour will benefit the projects and programs of the Junior League of Rockford to include its signature project MAYA’s House, a daytime drop-in center for homeless mothers and children.

For the past 73 years, the Junior League of Rockford, Inc. has sought to make the Rock River area a better place to live by identifying community needs and developing projects to support them, and then raising the funds to bring the projects to life. Some past Junior League community projects include The Discovery Center Museum, The Domestic Violence Assistance Center, Stepping Stones, and Ken-Rock Community Center. The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
