Karnes Music hosts Yamaha Clavinova Keyboard Festival

If you were wondering where you might hear a little Chopsticks with your Rachmaninoff, you might want to pencil in the Yamaha Clavinova Keyboard Festival, to be held at Karnes Music, Colonial Village, Friday, April 28, 5-8 p.m., and Saturday, April 29, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

All festival participants will be entered in a drawing for a free Yamaha Clavinova. The drawing will be Saturday at 6 p.m.

Named for the unique keyboard instrument upon which all of the players will perform, the Clavinova Festival is an incredible opportunity to hear a diverse range of musical selections.

Aspiring musicians from age 3 to 103 will showcase their talents to the public—many for the first time—during this exciting recital. Artistic expression, musical enjoyment and just plain having a good time are the main themes of this event. In fact, participants may perform any musical composition they would like—even a composition of their own—as they vie to win one of many prizes.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to sponsor this unique event,” said John Larsen. “This is a great opportunity for music lovers of all ages to come together and play, enjoy each other’s music, and maybe even win a prize.”

Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend. For information, contact Karnes Music, Colonial Village, at 398-7529.
