Kegel Harley-Davidson/Buell celebrates 95 years

Kegel Harley-Davidson/Buell has become a legend within the business realm of Harley-Davidson. But the business also holds the title of “World’s Oldest Family-Owned Harley-Davidson Dealership.”

Established in 1910, the Kegels are still progressing with the fourth generation entering the family business. Having a strong family that partners with the Harley-Davidson Company is a combination of longevity that can’t be beat. Top that off with a “family” relationship with their customers, and there is much potential for growth.

The dealership is expanding this year to its new size of almost 46,000 square feet. Kegel’s new showroom addition will be unveiled Nov. 18, with a gala celebration Grand Opening from 5 to 10 p.m. at the dealership, 7125 Harrison Ave., Rockford.

Kegel Harley-Davidson/Buell is no stranger to building expansion, as this is their second one since opening their modern, high-tech store in 1996. More growth will take place in the future with a motorcycle training facility to benefit Rockford and neighboring communities.

The celebration will have a semiformal atmosphere with three bands entertaining. One of them is special guest Erik Buell & The Thunderbolts. (Erik Buell is CTO & Founder of Buell Motorcycles, a division of Harley-Davidson.) Enjoy an assortment of entertainment, surprise guests, and specials throughout the evening as well as free food, champagne and 95th Anniversary cakes.
