Keith hosts rummage sale

Sale set for Jan. 21 in Keith School’s Upper School gym

Where can you find everything from games and toys that Junior has outgrown to complete bedroom sets to Aunt Mary’s skis? Answer: At the Keith School Rummage Sale.

Keith School will hold its third winter rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Upper School gym at 1 Jacoby Place, Rockford.

Keith is off Parkview Avenue, three blocks west of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. For information, call 815-399-8823 or visit

Items have been donated by Keith School families and friends and include a selection of “gently-used” items, packing the gym and overflow areas with treasures. Rummage sale shoppers can expect to see everything from baby items, toys, books, games, electronics, children’s and adults’ clothing, home and garden items, holiday and home décor, small appliances, furniture and jewelry.

“During our last sale two years ago, people left with amazing bargains,” said Peggy Trimble, sale coordinator. “This year, there are entire sets of furniture and even high-end women’s clothing with the tags still on.”

School officials said any items remaining at the end of the sale will be donated to local charities. Proceeds will support the Keith School Annual Fund.

Keith is the region’s independent, nonsectarian, college-preparatory school, serving students from age 3 through grade 12. To learn more about Keith School, visit the school’s Web site at
