Ken Tucker brings blues to Big Cities Oct. 19

Ken Tucker brings his blues guitar to Rockford this weekend, playing at Big Cities Lounge Friday night, Oct. 19.

Tucker’s newest CD, Looking For a Brighter Day, has received rave reviews. Critics compare his sound to the Allman Brothers Band, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Walsh and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Tucker recently took home the Best Emerging Artist Award from the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival.

While many of his songs feature hard-rockin’ blues, he peppers the album with gospel-inspired tunes to even out the pacing. One can be assured to expect the same at his live show here in town.

Stop by Big Cities Lounge, 905 E. State St., Friday Oct. 19. The Ken Tucker Band takes the stage at 9:30 p.m. Cost is $3.

from the Oct. 17-23, 2007, issue
