Kids Around the World helps New Orleans children

Organization to team with churches, community centers and other organizations to help children of New Orleans

Several months ago, a team of Kids Around the World volunteers partnered with the MDRT Foundation and built a playground for the children of New Orleans, La. Now things have changed.

Hurricane Katrina has left a wide path of destruction that forces each of us to respond. Many charitable organizations have quickly risen to the challenge and are providing food, water, clothing and shelter to the children. Kids Around the World is ready to step in again and do what they do best. They will partner with the churches, community centers and other organizations that have failthfully ministered to the children. They need to replace all of their children’s materials: children’s Bibles, puppets, flannelgraphs, sound systems, etc.–materials all destroyed in the flood. Kids Around the World wants to help mothers who are overwhelmed with the challenges of managing a family and give them a break by getting the playgrounds in their neighorhoods up and running again.

Please join Kids Around the World as they reach out in love to the children of the Gulf Coast who have been impacted by Hurricane Katrina. All financial gifts will go to support the new partners, the churches and community center, as well as rebuilding the neighborhood playgrounds. Volunteers are still welcome.

Please visit the Web site, http://www.kidsaroundthe, to make an online donation. All “general” donations made through the Web site will be designated for Katrina Relief. You may also send a check to: Kids Around the World, Katrina Relief, 560 S. Perryville Rd., Rockford, IL 61108.
