Kiki B’s slices into new cooking series

Kiki B’s recently hosted cooking classes with Bill Lavery of Cooking with the Best Chefs. With the recent departure of Lavery and his cooking series, Kiki B’s revamped its own series, set to kick off March 25.

Kiki B’s will feature some of the top chefs from Rockford’s finest restaurants. The chefs will teach participants how to create some of their speciality dishes.

The March 25 event is a kids’ cooking class from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Children attending will learn how to cook party foods such as chicken pizza, paninis and fruit smoothies. Cost is $20 and is for ages 5-10. Accompanying adults are free.

Following is a list of scheduled adult classes:

April 5—Steph Cheney from Five Forks Market (7-9 p.m.);

May 3—Jeff Oberg from Kiki B’s, Spring Seafood Recipes (7-9 p.m.);

June 3—Terry Carner from A Movable Feast, Grilling 101 (2-4 p.m.);

Oct. 4—Dale Leden from Kiki B’s, Fall Harvest Dinner (7-9 p.m.); and

Nov. 15—Jeff Bridgeman from Southern Wine, Laurel Phillips from The Village Chef and Kiki Benson from Kiki B’s; Wine, Cheese and Holiday Entertaining (7-9 p.m.).

More Rockford chefs, including Paul Sletten of Brio@Bacchus and Michael Varanelli of Rockford Country Club, are still to come.
