Are you up for a day of just kiting around?

Did you know May is “Flying 4 Kid’s Month”? Me, either! What will they come up with next?

But, for you flight enthusiasts who lack the money to fly an airplane, here’s a chance for you and your family to take to flight with a kite.

Make plans now to come west to Freeport’s Taylor Park May 13 for a Kite Festival. The first 50 participants will even receive a free kite.

For those of you less savvy at flying kites —there will be kite-flying demonstrations.

For the hard-core kite enthusiast, there will be contests for the largest/smallest kite; the highest-flying kite; and the best-decorated kite.

Mark your calendars, pack your picnic basket, and travel west—spend a day in Freeport and make some new friends.
