Klehm hosts patriotic concert Sept. 11

In honor of “Patriot Day” Sept. 11, Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden has added a special performance by the Rockford Christian Fellowship Band to their Wood Song—Music in the Garden Concert series.

The Rockford Christian Fellowship Band is a community concert band with approximately 40 volunteer musicians. This will be the first concert of their 21st season, and will include special patriotic musical selections. They are noted for their rousing marches, inspirational instrumental hymns and classical overtures.

The relaxing Wood Song concerts are held in Klehm’s beautiful flower-filled “Fountain Garden,” and patrons are encouraged to bring their favorite picnic fare, a blanket or lawn chair, and arrive early to leisurely stroll the gardens. A selection of beverages, homemade pies and fresh apple cider will be available for purchase.

General admission is $10 per person, Klehm members $8 each, and $5 for veterans and their families. Children 12 and younger are free, and groups of 10 or more are $8 each. Tickets are available online at www.klehm.org, or by phone with a major credit card at 815-965-8146. Gates open at 3 p.m. with the concert beginning at 5 p.m.

Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, 2701 Clifton Ave., is a partnership with the Winnebago County Forest Preserve. Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden is wheelchair accessible with free parking.
