Korean War Veterans Memorial a go!

The Korean War Veterans Memorial project at Arthur W. Anderson Peace Park was given the green light for approval of the final site design, and Park Board Commissioners granted permission for the veterans group to begin construction because they have successfully raised the $114,000 for materials and construction costs, and an additional $15,000 needed for an endowment fund.

The Greater Rockford Area Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter 272, has been raising the funds necessary to build the memorial for several years, led by Don Crosty, chairman of the Korean War Veterans Memorial Committee, and Jack Philbrick, commander, Greater Rockford Area Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter 272.
