The Rockford Area Arts Council is looking for children in the 5th and 6th grades who love to sing and would love to work with the Rock River Valley’s famed Dorothy Paige-Turner. The first rehearsal of the Kouncil Koraliers was held Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the First Congregational Church, 318 N. Church St., Rockford. The chorus, directed by Dorothy Paige-Turner, rehearses every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children may join through the first Tuesday of October.

The Kouncil Koraliers are in their 12th season sharing songs to uplift and celebrate the human spirit. All children in the 5th and 6th grades are welcome. There are no auditions, competition or fees.

The chorus is sponsored by the Rockford Area Arts Council and performs throughout the school year for festivals, service club meetings and special events.

For more information about joining the Kouncil Koraliers, or scheduling a performance, call the Rockford Area Arts Council at 963-6765.
