Kraig Kenning performs for Charlotte's Web Oct. 28

Kraig Kenning is a singer/songwriter from Chicago who has been performing professionally throughout the country for nearly 15 years. Charlotte’s Web will host him at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at Memorial Hall, 211 N. Main St.

He’s played at colleges, festivals, bookstores and coffee houses and plays more than 200 gigs a year. He has self-produced and self-financed six CDs to date, and sold more than 30,000 CDs from the stage. Kraig is currently touring to support his most rcent release, “MAKTUB.” He recently won first place and the first National Slide Guitar Contest in North Carolina. Call him contemporary, folk, blues, roots rock, American fingerstyle or Americana. Regardless of the musical styles crossed, he leaves audiences feeling like they’ve just spent some quality time with an old friend. Together with his trademark dobro and passionate lyrics, Kraig reminds us just how personal—and potent—original music can be.
