As part of its continuing leadership in the fight against hunger, Hilander presented a $4,900 donation to Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Rockford Branch.

This donation was collected during November and December for the “Share Your Feast” promotion, sponsored by Hilander.

Every November and December, Hilander, in conjunction with every store in the Kroger Central Marketing Area, hosts the Share Your Feast Food Drive. It is the largest and longest food drive in the state of Illinois. The drive offers three ways to give—make a cash donation at any checklane, purchase and donate a pre-bagged sack of groceries, or make a donation of any non-perishable grocery item. Kroger / Hilander’s commitment is that all donations will stay in the community in which it is collected.

“Combating hunger in America is one of Kroger’s core priorities,” said Bob Moeder, president of Kroger Central Marketing Area. “Kroger has a long tradition of giving back to the communities we serve. We appreciate the commitment of our customers, associates, and vendor partners share in drawing attention to the fight against hunger.”

Executives from Hilander presented the donation to NIFB March 16 at Hilander’s Roscoe location, 4860 Hononegah Rd. This check presentation kicked off one of four fun-filled weekends planned by Hilander to recognize and show appreciation for its customers and associates.
