Land of Oz Corn Maze opens Aug. 10


Camp Fire USA North Central Illinois Council is again sponsoring its Land of Oz Corn Maze near Ottawa, Ill. The maze is a fundraiser for the local Camp Fire Council and will open at noon on Saturday, Aug. 10 and will be available on weekends through Oct. 27. All times are dependent upon the weather—heat, rain, mud.

The Maze hours are 5 p.m. until dusk on Fridays and noon until dusk on Saturdays and Sundays. The cost for this adventure is $3 per person. Children five and under are free. This is the best bargain around!

The Corn Maze is a family fun event and appeals to all ages. Over the Rainbow Cafe will be open for purchasing refreshments and snacks. Picnic tables and grills are also available for your use.

Group outings can be accommodated during the week. Please call to make an appointment. The maze is a good outing for scouting groups, family reunions, campers, fall school trips, church activities, birthday parties, etc. Night hikes will be available by reservation only, and a minimum of six people will be required. Those who have done the night hikes say that it is a lot of fun.

The Corn Maze will be open on Labor Day and Columbus Day.

Directions to the Maze are: Take Route 23 north from Ottawa. Turn right at Dayton Road and go two miles east. Turn left at East 19th Road and follow the signs to the Land of Oz Corn Maze. Also look for the blue State Tourist Attraction signs on Route 23 and Route 71.
