Last chance for Ronald McDonald Care Mobile

OREGON—The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is returning to Ogle County in June. The Care Mobile is a medical and dental office on wheels that provides services to children ages 0-18. However, you must call now to schedule your medical and/or dental appointments because this will be your last chance to make summer appointments. The Care Mobile will not be returning to Ogle County again until December. As of May 30, there were a few appointments available for dental exams and several openings still available for medical physicals.

Some of the services include immunizations, physicals and well-child exams. Dental services may include cleaning, fluoride treatment, x-rays and dental repair. The Care Mobile has expanded its dental services to patients with developmental disabilities and is wheelchair-accessible.

The services are free and confidential. To qualify for services at the Care Mobile, families must either have no insurance, or have Medicaid or KidCare. If those with private insurance, are asked see a doctor in their community.

The Care Mobile will be in Rochelle June 11-12 for medical services and June 6 for dental services, hosted at the McDonald’s Restaurant on Route 251.

June 13, the Care Mobile will be at Chana Education Center, 204 Main St., Chana, Ill., for medical services and June 19 for dental services.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling the Ogle County Health Department at (815) 732-7330, extension 279 for Rochelle appointments. For appointments in Chana, call (815) 234-2722, extension 115 and leave a message.

The Care Mobile is a cooperative service among Ogle County Health Department, Chana Education Center, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Rockford Health System’s Children Medical Center.
