Law enforcement motorcycle club hosting benefit for Shrine Hospitals

Food, fun and prizes are on the agenda for Saturday, Sept. 22, at The Blue Knights Motorcycle Club’s Fun Run to benefit Shrine Hospitals for Children. Participation in the Fun Run is open to motorcycles, antique cars, or any motor vehicle. There will be several runs going in different directions and stopping at several different types of businesses. The cost is $10 per person, which entitles participants to a commemorative pin, refreshments and competitive prices.

The run will start at the Tebala Shrine Center at 7910 Newburg Road (just east of Interstate 90) in Rockford. First vehicle out at 10 a.m. and the last vehicle will be out at 2 p.m. Units and clubs of the Tebala Shrine will provide food and refreshments at the end of the run.

Shrine Hospitals for Children is a network of 22 hospitals that provide the highest-quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and certain other special health care needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment. Treatment is open to all young people younger than 18, regardless of religion, race or creed. Neither financial status nor the existence of a relationship to a member of the Shriners of North America is considered in the qualification process for NO COST treatment.
