Learning in Retirement open house Jan. 10

Come out of the “cold” and into the “warmth” of lifelong learning at Rock Valley College’s (RVC) Center for Learning in Retirement’s maiden “Think Spring—Stop-in Fling” open house.

This informal open house will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at RVC’s Bell School Road Center (the corner of Spring Brook and Bell School roads). The event is free to the public, ages 50 and older. This function is designed to be a drop-in, leave-as-you-wish opportunity.

A stimulating morning is planned, featuring “sampler classes,” which will include Ben Healy’s class “What In the World is Going On?”—Mary Bartel’s class “Stress Management”—and JoAnn Fischer’s class, which includes crafts of various kinds. Class presentations will be going on throughout the morning, and you are encouraged to drop in, listen and participate in the action.

This event will offer in-person registration for the spring 2007 session, which begins Feb. 5, 2007. Golden Eagles Fitness information and registration will be available to visitors.

Center for Learning in Retirement Advisory Committee members, CLR staff and members will be browsing, socializing and enjoying refreshments.

“Boomers”—this is your opportunity to see how the Center for Learning in Retirement (CLR) functions, to pick up a new spring catalog and enjoy the benefits of this unique program.
