Library holds an open call for artists

The Rockford Public Library will host an art exhibit at the Montague Branch Library in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, and has put an open call to local and regional artists interested in displaying work emphasizing the theme of Hispanic heritage.

All media are permitted as space allows. Artwork should be ready to hang or display, and submitted to the Montague Branch Library by Sept. 6, 2005.

The Rockford Public Library reserves the right to approve all submitted work, and the artist/exhibitor assumes all liability for the loss of or damage to the artwork on display, and will be required to sign a waiver releasing the Library from all responsibility.

Library staff may provide contact information for the artist upon request, but artwork may not be sold at the library.

For more information or to reserve space in the exhibit, contact Abel Garcia at 965-7606, ext. 634.

The Hispanic Heritage art exhibit will run at the Montague Branch Library from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15. An opening to celebrate the exhibit will be hosted Sept. 17 at the Montague Branch Library from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
