Library, Woman’s Club host Literary Evening Downtown


Rockford Public Library Foundation and Rockford Woman’s Club will host the second annual Literary Evening Downtown from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at the Main Library, 215 N. Main St. Cost is $30 per person in advance and $35 at the door. The event will feature community leaders including Rockford Mayor Doug Scott, Winnebago County Board Chairman Kris Cohn and State’s Attorney Paul Logli, as well as media personalities such as Steve Stadelman, Eric Wilson and Mark Bonne hosting half-hour discussions on books of their choice.

The Literary Evening Downtown is a fund-raiser for the children’s services projects of Rockford Public Library and the “Reading Alive” Family Literacy Project of the Rockford Woman’s Club. The evening will also feature hors d’oeuvres and wine catered by A Movable Feast and costumed literary characters from Rock Valley College’s Theater Department.
