Lifescape needs volunteer drivers

Lifescape Community Services (LCS) greatly needs volunteers to help with its home-delivered meals program. While the program does have staff members delivering meals every day, LCS could not accomplish as much as it does without the help of volunteers. More than two-thirds of the meals Lifescape prepares are delivered by volunteers. That means there are individuals in the community making it possible for homebound adults to have a nutritious lunch each day.

Just 30 minutes to an hour to make a huge difference in someone’s life. You could do it once a week, once a month, or become a substitute. This is a small commitment of time that could change the life of someone not able to get out anymore, or unable to cook for themselves. LCS’s home-delivered meals program is only possible with the help of those who give back to the community.

To deliver meals, you must be 18 years of age or older and provide your own vehicle, have an Illinois driver’s license and vehicle insurance. You could volunteer yourself, or get a group together to help make a difference by delivering meals. Information: Michelle or Amy at 963-1609, ext. 208.
