Literacy Council’s ‘100 Men Who Cook’ May 8

The 15th Annual “100 Men Who Cook” event benefiting The Literacy Council will be at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 8, at the MetroCentre in Rockford.

More than 100 “celebrity” chefs will provide an evening of culinary enjoyment for nearly 1,000 diners. Their favorite recipes will include appetizers, salads, main dishes, vegetables and desserts. Tickets are $40 per person and include a cookbook featuring the chefs’ recipes.

The evening will also feature the Top Hat raffle, music and dancing, and the drawing of the winners of the Three Vehicle Raffle. The three grand prizes include a 2004 Dodge Dakota truck, a 2004 Ford Mustang convertible and a 2004 Saturn VUE. Tickets are $20 each, and three winners will be drawn.

Winners do not have to be present at the “100 Men Who Cook” event at the Rockford MetroCentre. The three winners’ names will be announced on WTVO-17 news at 10 p.m. that night. For more information, call the Council office at 973-7323.
