Literary Hook: Family Fest 2 in Freeport

Family Book Fest 2 will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Freeport Public Library, 100 E. Douglas St., Freeport. The event is sponsored by the ABC Writers’ Group, the Clarence Mitchell Library at HCC, the Freeport Public Library, and the MW-IL Reading Council. Book sales will be courtesy of Book World.

The event features more than 20 authors signed up to sell and autograph their books. These include the following: storytime for preschoolers-6th graders, book talks for middle, grade and junior high children, a mime and storyteller team, poetry reading, arts and crafts for elementary children, and drumming circles for all ages.

Beloved book characters such as The Grinch and Clifford the Big Red Dog will be wandering around throughout the day.
