Literary Hook: Two interesting poetry contests to enter

If you act quickly, you can enter the following two interesting poetry contests:

Poets & Friends’ annual contest, deadline Nov. 15. Awards are $25, $15 and $10. You may enter three unpublished poems in each category. Cost is $1 per entry. Maximum length is 40 lines. Categories are as follow: No. 1—Free Verse, any subject; No. 2—Formal structured poem (name your form); No. 3—Subject: “Poetry”; No. 4—Humor; and No. 5—Haiku. Send with SASE to M.J. Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award, sponsored by The Formalist. $1,000 award for an unpublished sonnet or sonnet sequence. Sonnets must be original. No translations. Entry is $3 per sonnet, checks payable to The Formalist. Winning poem will be published in Measure: An Annual Review of Formal Poetry. Deadline is Nov. 15.
