Literary Hook: Two poetry contests to enter

Continuing our look at imminent poetry contests, here are two more of interest. Please note that their deadlines are timely, so act quickly.

Connecticut Poetry Society’s annual Wallace Winchell Poetry Contest awards are $150, $100 and $50. Contest includes publication of winning poems in Connecticut River Review. Poem should be no more than 40 lines. Entry fee is $10 for three poems. Send two copies, one with name and address, and one without name and address. Always include a SASE. WyoPoets 8th annual national contest is open to all, and accepts any subject, any form. Limit 40 lines. Entry fee: $3 for two poems. Additional poems $1 each. No limit. Prizes are $50, $30 and $20, and honorable mentions. Always include a SASE. Send two copies, one with name, address, e-mail, and one without identity. Deadline is Nov. 30.
