The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC), formerly the Northern Illinois Blood Bank, is in desperate need of blood donations.
As of Monday, Dec. 15, the Center had enough blood of all types to last approximately one or two days. The Center provides blood for SwedishAmerican, OSF St. Anthony, Rockford Memorial, Harvard Community, Rochelle Community, Northwest Suburban Community, Freeport Health Network, Beloit Memorial, and Edgerton Memorial Community hospitals.
RRVBC must collect 140 units of blood each day to sustain the needs of the nine hospitals.
