Local book signings set for The Prayer Warrior

Bryant Buck of Rock City, Ill., has just published a book, The Prayer Warrior (ISBN 9781602665354), from Xulon Press. This is the story of Buck’s neighbor and fellow Stephenson County resident Eldon Shisler.

Born in hillbilly poverty in northern Missouri, never completing high school and never having a good job, Elden nevertheless goes on to “move mountains” with his amazing prayer life.

The Prayer Warrior opens with a miracle that occurred just south of Rock City—a miracle documented by eyewitnesses.

Says Buck: “My hope is that readers of The Prayer Warrior will be inspired both to pray more and to pray more effectively by the lessons learned from Elden Shisler’s life. The book reveals simple prayer principles we all can apply to make our prayer life more effective.”

Buck was a firsthand witness to part of Shisler’s story, having known him for 30 years and been his prayer partner for nine. He personally traveled to Missouri, his place of birth, and documented the miracles that occurred in his adult life there. Says the author, “My own prayer life has been dramatically changed from what I have learned praying with Elden.”

Bryant C. Buck is a full-time insurance salesman and a part-time lay minister with New Beginnings Church. He and his wife, Emily, live near Rock City, Ill.

Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communictions Corporation, is the world’s largest Christian publisher, with more than 3,900 titles published to date. Retailers may order The Prayer Warrior through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
