The City of Rockford Human Services Department is accepting appointments for Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) at its main office at 612 N. Church St.
Eligible people may schedule an appointment by calling the Energy Division at 987-5711.
There is also funding available for Boone County residents and appointments are available in either Rockford or Belvidere.
To be eligible for assistance in paying gas or electric bills, people must meet income guidelines. Applicants must have a Social Security number, documentation of gross income for the last 30 days and a utility bill detailing name, service location and rates.
For a family of four, monthly income must not exceed $2,263.
