Lockwood Park begins Haunted Hayrides

The popular Haunted Hayrides will return to Rockford Park District’s Lockwood Park this season, when visitors of all ages will be entertained viewing spooky surprises on hayrides through the woods of the park.

Haunted Hayrides are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays only, Oct. 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29 (weather permitting), 6:30-9:30 p.m.

No reservations are required—rides are on a first come, first served basis, with ticket sales starting at 6 p.m. each night at Lockwood Park. Ride tickets cost $5 per person, with children ages 3 and younger admitted free. Discounted group prices are available for 10 or more tickets with advance purchase, beginning Oct. 7 at Lockwood Park and the Park District Sinnissippi Park Office.

Visitors can also experience “The Undertaker’s Halloween Bash” on the north side of Lockwood Park, with fun for all ages and music by a DJ. This area will be open the same days and hours as the hayrides; donations will be accepted, with proceeds to benefit the Children’s Christmas Fund.

Lockwood Park is at 5201 Safford Rd. between Searls and Page parks in northwest Rockford. For more information, call Lockwood Park at 987-8809 (voice/TTY). For information on accessibility and disability support, call 987-1600 (voice/TTY).
