Loren Tate to speak at dinner in Rockford

Loren Tate and his wife, Alexis, will be the featured speakers at a dinner hosted by the Rockford Area Illini Club Thursday, April 17, at the Rockford Country Club.
Loren Tate, a 1953 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has served as sports editor of the Champaign News-Gazette and contributed to Illini football and basketball radio coverage the past 30 years. His wife, Alexis, is assistant to UIUC President James Stukel.
Cost is $20 for Illini Club members and $30 for non-members. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. Information: Jerry Beger, 226-0824, before April 7.
