Latin group to pursue TV, commercial opportunities
Following on the heels of the Isley Brothers, Latin sensation Los Lonely Boys confirmed in an e-mail that they, too, will not be performing at this years Sept. 3-5 On the Waterfront (OTW) festival. No replacement has been named.
The Los Lonely Boys had been considering canceling their show in Rockford after new opportunities with Sony for television appearances and commercials became available. Although the trio of brothers has kept some commitments, the group has canceled many of its shows with the Allman Brothers. The Los Lonely Boys were scheduled to perform with the Allman Brothers at OTW.
OTW had asked that fans and ticketholders go to OTWs Web site and e-mail Los Lonely Boys, asking them to honor their commitment. To send an e-mail, go to www.onthewaterfront.com and click on On the Waterfront, which will lead you to the Festival page. On the right side of the screen, click on the link that says E-Mail the Los Lonely Boys. Your e-mail will automatically open with the addresses and message already entered; just click send to let the Los Lonely Boys and their management know that you are ready for a great night in Rockford.
OTW hopes the group will change its mind and decide to play.
